Renowned Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has taken a new step in order to improve the ownership experience of its customers. The company has introduced a new Road Side Assistance (RSA) programme in India for new and existing owners. This service apparently is not applicable to RE motorcycles that are older than five years.
The RSA programme will be offered at free of cost on the purchase of a new motorcycle with a validity of one year. If the customer wishes to continue the services after one year, the same will be available for the subsequent year by paying a premium amount.
RE owners who already have a motorcycle that is 1 to 3 years old can opt for the RSA service at Rs 800 per year. For motorcycles that are 3 to 5 years, the RSA service can be subscribed for at Rs 1,000 per year.
The RSA service will attend to mechanical and electrical breakdowns faced by owners; a technician will be allocated to attend to the breakdown and fix the motorcycle. In case of a mishap where the motorcycle is involved in an accident due to which the bike is not movable, the RSA will take care of having the bike towed to the nearest RE service centre. The towing service is free of cost but is chargeable if the distance between the breakdown and service centre is more than 100kms.
The RSA service will also attend to unexpected events such as punctures, battery drainage and low fuel situations. Interested owners of RE motorcycles can call on the toll-free no. 1800-2100-007 for further details of the Road Side Assistance services.
